DAMAC appoints contractor for Dubai Maritime City project

The project is expected to be completed in 2027

DAMAC Properties announced on Thursday it has awarded the contract for the main works on its first project in Dubai Maritime City.

The agreement has been signed with Modern Building Contracting Company (MBCC).

Under the contract, MBCC will undertake the main works package, which includes the comprehensive construction of the 52-storey tower and five-storey parking block.

MBCC’s portfolio includes a series of completed projects in Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah and Lebanon.

Shoring and piling works on the project, named Harbour Lights, have already been completed. The building is expected to be completed in Q2 2027.

Harbour Lights will feature 294 apartment ranging from one- to three-bedroom units. Notably, the developer has said it will feature modular, prefabricated bathroom pods in order to speed up the construction timeline and maintain consistency across all units.

“We are excited to partner with MBCC on this landmark project. Their proven track record and dedication to excellence align perfectly with our vision for this development. This 52-storey tower will not only enhance the skyline but also set new benchmarks in luxury living,” said Mohammed Tahaineh, General Manager of Projects at DAMAC.
